DAY 5

1 John 1:5

“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”

Scripture reveals God the Father as completely pure and wholly trustworthy. To say that God is light means there is no shadow, deception, or inconsistency in Him. He does not shift between moods or act from mixed motives. Everything He does flows from His perfect character, which is holy, righteous, and good.

Knowing God as light shapes how His people relate to Him. We do not approach Him in fear of unpredictability, but in confidence that He is always faithful and true. His light exposes what is false, not to condemn, but to restore and heal. When God brings things into the light, it is an act of love meant to lead His children into freedom and wholeness.

For a church at the beginning, this truth is foundational. God builds His people on truth, not illusion. When we trust His character, we are freed to live honestly before Him and one another. Today, invite God’s light into any area you’ve kept hidden, trusting that His truth leads to healing and life.

Prayer Prompt around embodying Love with Relentless Grace

Father, thank You that You are light without darkness. Help me trust Your goodness and walk honestly before You. Heal places where fear or shame have kept it hidden. Shape me and this church to reflect Your truth with grace and compassion. Thank you for being the light of the world. As I let you shine through me, guide me to those who need to experience it. Put a burden on my heart for those around me who have not walked in the freedom and life that comes with being “in the light”.
