Ephesians 4:16
“From whom the whole body… causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
Paul concludes this section by describing the Church as a living body, joined and held together by Christ Himself. Growth does not come from one part alone, but from every part working as it was designed. When each believer functions faithfully, the Church is built up in love.
This image emphasizes responsibility, purpose, and belonging. No role is insignificant, and no contribution is wasted. God uses ordinary faithfulness to produce extraordinary growth. Love is both the environment and the outcome of this shared work. We have walked through what it looks like to surrender to be dependent on Him. A significant aspect of that is discerning His voice. I pray that these last two weeks you have been challenged and also grown in seeking the Lord in everyday life.
As The Waters Edge continues to take shape, this passage calls us to intentional participation. Today, offer yourself willingly to God, asking Him to show you where your presence and gifting bring life to the body. The church needs you. The Water’s Edge will not be what it can be with you passively attending.
Prayer Prompt to advance the Kingdom through Spirit-Led Transformation
Jesus, thank You for joining us together as one body. Help me walk faithfully in the roles You have given me. Remove passivity and strengthen my commitment to one another. Build Your church through my willing obedience and love. I want to see You move. I want it to start in my life. Allow me to see, surrender, boldly act, and in doing so, advance Your Kingdom in Jesus name.
