THE WATERS EDGE
21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
We are empowered by the Holy Spirit. We exist to awaken faith by bold action, embody love with relentless grace, and advance the Kingdom through Spirit-led transformation.
We find ourselves at the water’s edge, at the beginning.
Before structures are built, before rhythms are established, before a church takes visible form, God gathers His people to Himself. Again and again in Scripture, God begins His work not with movement, but with drawing near. While calling His people into His presence so that what He builds is sustained by His Spirit and not by human strength.
Prayer and fasting are not preparation for something else; they are the first act of obedience. We come to The Water’s Edge looking toward what God desires to form, choosing to begin the way Jesus began; seeking the Father, yielding to the Spirit, and aligning our hearts with heaven.
We fast to awaken our hunger for God and silence the noise around us.
We pray to sharpen our attentiveness to His voice.
We wait not because we are uncertain, but because we are dependent.
Please take time before the new year to ask the Lord what He would like you to fast from. Let us make a point to live more like Him this year. And that starts with stripping away some of ourselves.
We believe the Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit. Without Him, there is no life, no transformation, no lasting fruit. With Him, ordinary people become a dwelling place for God’s presence and a witness to His Kingdom.
We exist to awaken faith by bold action. That begins here by trusting God enough to seek Him first, before we seek outcomes. Faith is awakened when obedience comes before visibility.
We exist to embody love with relentless grace. That love is first received in God’s presence, where hearts are softened, wounds are healed, and pride is surrendered.
And we exist to advance the Kingdom through Spirit-led transformation. That transformation begins within us, as we submit ourselves fully to the work God desires to do.
Throughout Scripture, beginnings often unfold at The Water’s Edge. Creation itself began as the Spirit hovered over the waters. Israel crossed into the promise through the Jordan.
Jesus stepped into the water before the Spirit descended and the Father spoke.
We believe God is doing a foundational work here.
During these 21 days, we are not asking God to bless what we are building. We are asking Him to build what He desires, and to shape us into a people who will steward it with humility, courage, and love.
So we come together while open-handed, attentive, and expectant. We do not rush ahead. We do not cling to our own plans. We draw near to Him, trusting that the God who begins the work is faithful to complete it.
This is the beginning. This is the foundation. This is the moment we step toward what God is forming at The Waters Edge.
Every morning starting January 1st, expect a short devotional and prayer prompt to support you through these 21 days. We are praying that our lives, our perspectives, our marriages, our homes, and The Water's Edge look more like Him through this journey.
“Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it.”
Psalm 127:1
